What Is Recycled Rainbow?

Recycled Rainbow is a four-day event inspired by the Burning Man festival. Everything is organized, built and paid for by volunteers with their own resources. There are no trash cans, so you’ll have to pack your trash out with you. There are no vendors, so you have to bring enough food, drink and whatever else you need for four days. There are no schedules or rules, so you’ll have to make things happen yourself and respect your neighbor.

Mutation night was a major success!

Thanks to all who came and donated! The turnout was huge for the Chamber, our setup was decked out RR style, we explained the event extensively to several interested newbies, and made enough donations to rent a port-a-jon with servicing. Mega-kudos to Laura Matis for launching this in the first place, and highest regards to Kat & The Chamber for hosting this most successful fund raiser on our behalf! It’s been a long time since we’ve done this. I’ve had a couple more beers than I should have had- than I planned. We were sitting on the front porch. God, it’s been a long time since we sat on the front porch. Talking about Burning Man, talking about RR, talking about what makes us happy, talking about what makes us anxious. We hit on something important to RR…

A Great Way to Participate — Volunteer!

Hey there all you phreaks! Javamama, your very own volunteer coordinator and part time witch queen comin’ at you. It’s time to think about your contribution to Recycled Rainbow. No, I’m not talking money here, although donations of money could be helpful too. I’m talking time, creativity, physical activity, sharing your very own unique talents and abilities with the community … If you aren’t already committed to one of our illustrious teams, think about it. If you see something that sparks your interest, you can contact the team lead that’s listed or contact me at volunteers(at)recycledrainbow(dot)org. Here’s a list of the teams:
